OUR HISTORY

Glen and Sharon Whitcanack shared a passion for growing. Glen has run large scale farm operations covering over 2000 acres applying extensive agriculture and plant knowledge gained at Cal Poly.

He started his own nursery as a hobby in 1997. The plant selection grew as an expanding loyal customer base offered insight into what home gardeners were seeking. Soon what was simply a pastime became a full time enterprise as Glen and Sharon left their jobs to devote attention to the nursery.

Today, Branches of Redwood Nursery is a multi million dollar company with two locations in Elk Grove and Galt and over 30 employees. Plans are well underway and ground broken for an Event Center at the original Galt location which will host weddings, retreats, and other functions. The finished center will be a scenic showpiece for the region featuring Japanese gardens and cascading waterfalls.

The Whitcanacks remain involved on a daily basis overseeing operations and listening to customers to insure the best quality product and selection.
