HOW DO I PLANT MY BARE ROOT TREE?

Before you start digging:

Place tree where mature Height and Width is considered in advance.

Find out if your tree needs a pollinizer.

Make sure during the growing season your tree will get a lot of sun.

  1. Dig hole slightly larger then the width of the root system and just slightly deeper then the roots.
  2. Carefully trim root ball of extra long roots and broken roots. Only loosen a few roots at bottom and sides.
  3. Mix 1 part humus or planting mix with 3 parts native soil. You may add slow release fertilizer at this time.
  4. Make sure bud union is above the ground.
  5. amp soil down to eliminate air pockets and make a wide shallow basin around tree for watering .
  6. Water thoroughly, and if dormant do not water again till spring leaf-out.
